thomaswechspreis 2018: Recognition for Schmuttertal Gymnasium

The thomaswechspreis is the regional architecture prize from the BDA Bayern, for the region of Swabia, South West Germany.

In their 9th year, the awards focus was again on the work, the client and the architect. The thomaswechprise is awarded to builders and architects every three years.

A total of 67 works from all over Bavarian Swabia were submitted to this year’s awards.

In the first online round, the three international jury members Bernardo Bader (Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria) Armand Ruinelli (Soglio, Graubünden, Switzerland) and Michaela Wolf (Bressanone, South Tyrol, Italy) ranked 31 submissions to create the shortlist. After another vote, 10 buildings were visited by the jury.

The Schmuttertal Gymnasium, Diedorf received recognition and the summit restaurant Nebelhorn, Oberstdorf was shortlisted.
