Klima:aktiv is an initiative from the Austrian Ministry of Life, dedicated to active climate protection. The award stands for energy efficiency, ecological quality, quality of building materials, overall comfort, indoor air quality, and planning, as well as the highest quality implementation.
In addition to the categories ‘planning and completion’ and ‘klima-aktiv building and renovation’ there is the new klima-aktiv category called ‘building utilisation’, which is designed to promotes a realistic energy demand calculation and the optimisation during operation. In this category, the energy quality of the building is evaluated on the basis of its real energy consumption. For the first time, three buildings won in this category, including the project multi-family house Morscher in Langenegg.
